The hotel has a total of 66 meeting rooms, including the new 20,000-square-foot, two-level Conference Center with 27 rooms ranging in size from 450 to 2,250 square

OBJECTIVE
To provide hotel guests with easy access to directional information in busy hotel environment.
CONTENT STRATEGY
- Break out of traditional one-way communication methodology where hotel guest must wait for digital sign to scroll through list of today’s events.
- Give hotel guests control over wayfinding information.
- Give hotel guests more than simply the name of the meeting room and the start time. Literally show them exactly where they are on the hotel floor plan and where their meeting room is located.
- Accentuate hotel’s renovated, ultra-modern look.
- Provide other content such as weather, time, date, hotel amenity ads and local area activities/points of interest.
CHALLENGE
We identified that the hotel event list data storage mechanism was not ideally suitable for this application. As a result, we had to modify how this data was made available to each touch screen. In addition, an electrical storm knocked out one of the touch screens, compelling us to add extra electrical surge protection.
RESULTS
- Each of 13 strategically placed, 46-inch touch screen units integrates into the hotel’s content-management system to ensure the most current meeting location information is presented.
- Hotel guests can gain easy access to information about scheduled events, facilities, concierge services, amenities and airline arrivals/departures.
- A 3D map illustrates how to navigate from one area to another.
- The hotel also uses signage in its sales process to prospects.
