Greg Nelson is an award-winning design leader adept at strategically merging communication and place to create compelling solutions that engage people and inspire results.
With over 20 years of professional experience, Greg has worked on a wide range of projects, from stadiums, convention centers, hotels and corporate campuses to exhibits, restaurants and high-end residences. Across all these scales and types of projects, he has developed a firsthand view that the environment is a powerful communicator and that purposeful, human-centered design solutions have the opportunity to create action and inspire change.
Armed with experience working across a spectrum of clients, including developers, large companies, small start-ups, governmental agencies and non-profits, Greg also understands that design has the ability to create business value by engaging customers and employees and overall increasing the bottom line.
With these perspectives in mind, Greg Nelson founded Altitude Design Office in 2014, where he currently leads a team practicing at the intersection of design and communication for the purpose of inspiring positive impact for individuals, businesses and communities.
As a cum laude graduate of Kansas State University’s Department of Interior Architecture & Product Design, Greg was trained that meaningful design has to blur boundaries between disciplines in order to solve problems. For that reason, his experience has included not only the design of physical spaces and experiences, but also the design of communications, service concepts and even organizational strategies that support sustainable, user-centered design.
